USE OF HIJAIYAH LETTER PUZZLES AS AN IMPLEMENTATION OF IQRO READING IN CHILDREN AGE 4-5 YEARS

Abstract


It is important to instill religious education from an early age to become a person who is good in religion and behavior. The Koran is a holy book that uses cursive Arabic letters. The first step to be able to read the Koran is to know the hijaiyah letters. Many methods are applied, one of which is the iqro method. This iqro method can be combined with games such as hijaiyah letter puzzles, the function of which is to give children more variety in recognizing hijaiyah letters so that children can play while learning. The research was conducted using qualitative methods using observation, interview and documentation techniques. This research was conducted to determine developments in the application of iqro reading through the hijaiyah letter puzzle game for children aged 4-5 years. Based on data obtained from observing 5 children at the Kartika Kindergarten in Serang City, there is one child who is in the beginning to develop (MB) category, there is one child who is in the developing according to expectations (BSH) category and there are three children who are developing very well (BSB). It can be concluded that it is proven that the hijaiyah letter puzzle game tool can help children in implementing iqro reading, especially for children aged 4-5 years.
