Abstract

Abstract

The gaming industry has used technology to transform entertaiment media into multipurpose media, the most notable of which is media that may be used for education. Many organizations use games as more engaging and enjoyable educational tools for the general public, especially virtual reality games given the current state of the metaverse. According to Merrill's First Principles of Instruction theory, there are instructional components that must exist in each educational setting for students to be able to apply their learning effectively. These components are Problems, Activation, Demonstration, Application, Integration. The purpose of this study's content analysis method is to examine how Merrill's First Principles of Instruction are applied in the VR Titan Space game developed by DashVR LLC. The research results will show whether or not the VR game Titan Space successfully implemented Merrill's First Principles of Instruction in teaching users about solar system. Analyses of the data are conducted using Fullerton's (2019) methodology for formal element analysis.
