RESPON PEMBACA TERHADAP APLIKASI TRAVELOKA: FENOMENA FITUR ‘TRAVELOKA XPERIENCE’

ABSTRAK

Akhir-akhir ini bisa dilihat bahwa ada banyak sekali cara-cara yang bisa dilakukan ketika seseorang hendak bepergian keliling dunia atau ketika hendak mencari hiburan.Internet menyediakan segala hal yang kita butuhkan hanya dengan beberapa kali klik. Kali ini akan dibahas mengenai fenomena baru yang biasa disebut ‘Traveloka Xperience’. Dengan fitur ini, para pengguna bisa mencari apapun terkait media hiburan yang mereka inginkan dalam satu aplikasi. Penelitian ini akan mencoba untuk menganalisis tentang respon pembaca terhadap ‘Traveloka Xperience’ sebagai platform media hiburan khususnya bagi mereka yang tinggal di Surabaya. Teori respon pembaca oleh Jauss & Iser digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Pendekatan fenomenologi akan digunakan untuk membantu menemukan pemahaman tentang respon pembaca terhadap fenomena budaya tersebut. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa respon pelanggan terhitung sangat baik dalam menginterpretasikan manfaat dari fitur Traveloka Xperience. Para pengguna tampak menemukan makna dan manfaat dari fitur ini berdasarkan pada pengalaman dan latar belakang mereka.

ABSTRACT

Recently, there are numerous different ways that can be done by people when it comes to travel around the world or even when they just want to entertain themselves. Internet has provided everything they need by just a few simple clicks. Today, there is a new feature called ‘Traveloka Xperience’ in which can be said to be the new phenomenon in searching for any entertainment media. This study will try to analyze about the reader response of ‘Traveloka Xperience’ as a media for entertaining people especially for those who live in Surabaya. The theory of reader response from Jauss & Iser will be used to conduct this study. Phenomenological approach will be used as the research design in order to help to find an understanding on how the readers will respond to this cultural phenomenon. The result shows that the users’ responds are quite good in interpreting the benefits of Traveloka Xperience feature. Those users can make the maximum benefits of finding the meaning of this feature based on their own experiences and backgrounds.
