Abstract


Background of this research was gotten from the result of observation and interview at one of elementary school in Sarijadi, Bandung. Written found a problem about the low skill of students in writing descriptive essay. This caused by teachers who often did not give focus in writing skill of students while teaching them. Besides that, student it self could be a factor that could caused this problem. Data was collected from 24 students of 3rd grade class. Purposes of this research are as follows: 1) describe guided writing strategy based learning planning 2) describe the implementation of guided writing strategy based learning planning 3) describe the increment of descriptive essay writing skill of students after the implementation of guided writing strategy. This research is Classroom Action Research which adapted from Kemmis and Mc. Taggart model that consists of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting with two cycles. Data was analyzed with quantitative and qualitative. According to result of cycle I and II that implemented with 4 components of guided writing strategy based learning on essay writing skill of 3rd grade students shows the increment of average score and mastery learning
