PENERAPAN METODE PEMBELAJARAN SQ3R UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract
The background in this research is low reading comprehension skill in a students of elementary school. The purpose on this research especially to improve reading comprehension skill by using SQ3R (survey, question, read, recite, review) learning method. Reading comprehension skill is a must have skills for students to be able comprehend the contens of the reading text. The reaseach method use was Calssroom Action Reaseachr adapting the reaseach model from Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. The reaseacrh in the one of state elementary school in Astanaanyar District of Bandung City was carried out in two cycles with the reasearh subject namely students of class IV D totaling 28 students consisting of 11 men and 17 women. Data collection is done through test, field observations, and documentation. The result showed positive things, seen from the average value of learning outcomes in the first cycle of 74.46 and increased in the second cycle to 84.28. Based on these data it can be concluded that the application of the SQ3R learning method can improve reading comprehension skills of grade IV elementary school students.
