Abstract

This research is motivated by a preliminary study of the low mathematics scores in an elementary school in the city of Bandung, this is because most students have learning difficulties, where one of the factors causing students' learning difficulties is understanding abstract mathematics, while students' thinking is at the concrete operational stage so that to overcome these difficulties, textbooks as the main learning resources used should be in accordance with the characteristics and stages of students' cognitive development, one of which is based on the PMRI approach. Referring to this, this study aims to describe the realization of the PMRI principle in the fourth grade elementary school mathematics textbook and to describe the realization of the PMRI principle in the fourth grade elementary school mathematics textbook. . The research method used is descriptive with data analysis techniques, namely content analysis using a checklist instrument for the realization of the PMRI principle in the teacher's book and student's book for Mathematics class IV SD to determine the percentage and category of realization of the PMRI principle. The results of the analysis concluded that in each chapter there has been a realization of the PMRI principle with the percentage of realization in the teacher's book of 93% in the "very good" category and the percentage in the student book of 97% with the "very good" category, which means the teacher's book and student's book. The fourth grade elementary school mathematics already contains PMRI principles and is feasible to use
