Abstract

The tendency to minimize student involvement in learning activities will give a monotonous impression. This is the cause of the low student learning outcomes in Civics subjects. The purpose of this research is to produce an interactive PowerPoint learning media design product to improve Civics learning outcomes for 4th grade elementary school students. The research was conducted using the Design and Development research method using the Reeves model research stages, namely: 1) identification and problem analysis by researchers and practitioners collaboratively; 2) develop solutions based on existing theoretical benchmarks, design principles and technological innovations; 3) carry out an iterative process to practically test and improve solutions; 4) reflection to produce design principles and improve implementation of practical solutions. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The research location is at SDN 1 Pasanggrahan in Garut district. The results showed that the learning media that had been developed were valid and feasible to use. The feasibility was obtained based on the results of validation by material and media experts and learning experts obtained an average score of 3.8 in the very good category, and the usability of the results of the trial was one trial with one meeting. The student's response was enthusiastic when the PowerPoint learning media was tested, there was an increase in student learning outcomes based on cognitive aspects as measured by tests, affective aspects obtained through observation, and psychomotor aspects through singing folk songs. Interactive PowerPoint learning media can be used as an alternative learning as well as a learning resource in SD/MI in fourth grade in an effort to improve student Civics learning outcomes, especially in the form of Indonesian cultural diversity.
