Abstract

Financial literacy education in primary schools is important in equipping the younger generation to face future challenges. However, it often receives less attention in the curriculum at the primary school level. In addition, conventional teacher’s teaching methods are considered ineffective in attracting students' interest and motivation to learn. This community service program focuses on the use of a board game named ‘Si Kemal Jago Finansial’ as an educational medium to improve students' financial management knowledge, attitudes and skills. As a result, the use of board games has significantly shown a change in students' understanding of basic financial concepts such as saving, and managing budgets including income and expenses. In addition, students showed positive attitudes towards financial management and better practical skills in managing their money. The program not only improves financial literacy but also provides a fun and meaningful learning experience for students. Recommendations for further implementation are to integrate financial literacy into the primary school curriculum and continuous training for teachers.
