Focus and Scope

Journal of Education and Community Service (JECS) publishes original and theoretically informed research that contributes to the field of teacher education in relation to community service.

We seek submissions that make innovative empirical and theoretical contributions which encourage interdisciplinary perspectives and comparative studies, across different countries, contexts and levels of education.

JECS provides a forum for articles which theorize the relationship between education and community service focusing on leadership development, character building and skill acquisition. The journal welcomes scholarly discussion of new issues of education and community service which pays a special attention to issues of diversity, sustainability, efficiency and reflexivity.

JECS is a valuable resource for university students, lecturers, educational administrators, educational managers, curriculum planners and developers as well as researchers.

Peer Review Process

All research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous double blind peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing by at least two anonymous referees.
